Aldorrien Cardell Berry was just 23 years old when his life was tragically ended by gun violence. Born on January 2, 1994, Aldorrien was a beloved son, remembered fondly by his family and community. On the night of August 25, 2017, he became another victim in the ongoing struggle against violent crime in New Orleans.

The Night of the Incident

At approximately 10:15 PM on August 25, 2017, New Orleans police responded to reports of a double shooting in the Gentilly neighborhood. Upon arrival at a residence in the 2400 block of Athis Street, officers found Aldorrien lying on the front lawn, suffering from gunshot wounds. Another man was discovered inside the house, also wounded. Both individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Tragically, Aldorrien succumbed to his injuries the following day, August 26.

An Ongoing Investigation

Despite the passage of time, Aldorrien's case remains unsolved. Investigators have yet to identify any suspects or determine a clear motive for the shooting. The lack of arrests and limited information have left his family and the community searching for answers. Aldorrien's funeral was held on September 9, 2017, at Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home in New Orleans. He was laid to rest at Providence Memorial Park.
