A Promising Future in San Diego

Andrew "Andy" Moore, a 26-year-old culinary enthusiast and dedicated student, had embraced the vibrant life of San Diego with open arms. Originally from Pennsylvania, Andy was adopted from Vietnam in 1974 and moved to Southern California after high school. In San Diego, he lived with his uncle and worked various jobs, including a stint at SeaWorld. At the time of his death, he was a full-time student at San Diego City College, pursuing a degree in International Business, and worked as a chef at a local restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter. His parents, Dick and Rita Moore, recall him as a friendly and outgoing individual who loved everything about his new West Coast home.

The Fateful Evening of September 9, 2000

On the evening of Saturday, September 9, 2000, Andy was last seen alive in his apartment at 1347 Eighth Avenue in San Diego's East Village. He was entertaining three visitors—two women and a man—whose identities remain unknown. This social gathering would be the last time anyone saw Andy alive.
