On the evening of May 15, 2017, a triple shooting occurred in the 5200 block of Timber Haven Lane in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans. Among the victims was 24-year-old Roy Noel, who was found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Roy Noel, affectionately known as "Peppa Bean," was a native of Marrero, Louisiana, and resided in Gretna. He was remembered by family and friends as a beloved son, father, and friend. His obituary notes that he was born on August 21, 1992, to parents Roy Rome and Cardecia Anthony. He left behind a young daughter, Amari A. Taylor, and was survived by a large family, including siblings, grandparents, godparents, and numerous other relatives and friends.
