A Tragic Morning in West Oakland

On the morning of May 9, 2015, the tranquility of West Oakland was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 9:23 a.m., 35-year-old Gregory Ealey II was fatally shot at the intersection of 8th Street and Chester Street. Despite the prompt arrival of paramedics, Ealey was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving a community in mourning and a family devastated.
