A Promising Beginning
Eric Velasquez was born in Trinidad, Colorado, as the second son in his family. From a young age, he exhibited an outgoing personality and a deep love for his family. His early years were marked by a passion for music and sports; he played the flute in his elementary school band, participated in baseball and track, and earned numerous academic awards in science, English, and math. His artistic talents were also recognized when he received the prestigious Bank of America Achievement Award in Art during his senior year of high school. In his leisure time, Eric enjoyed reading, drawing, painting, and engaging in various sports.
Adaptability and Independence
Due to his father's job, Eric's family relocated from Colorado to California during his childhood. Despite these changes, Eric's adaptable nature allowed him to make friends easily wherever he went. Demonstrating a strong sense of independence, he taught himself how to fish and surf at a young age. While in high school, he balanced his academic pursuits with a part-time job at Jenny Craig. After graduation, Eric aspired to pursue a degree in business at Santa Barbara City College, with dreams of attending law school in the future. However, financial constraints led him to leave college after his second semester and return home to Ventura, California.
