In the early hours of September 26, 2017, the West Englewood neighborhood of Chicago was the scene of a somber gathering. Dozens had assembled to honor the memory of a teenager who had recently taken his own life. Amid the flickering candles and shared grief, tragedy struck once more. Gunfire erupted, and 28-year-old Christopher Tracey Hardrick was fatally shot during the vigil.
