A Tragic Evening in Southeast D.C.
On the evening of November 30, 2019, the tranquility of the 2800 block of Shipley Terrace SE in Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 7:56 p.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District responded to reports of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old DeAngelo Ross suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the swift response and subsequent medical attention, Ross was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
A Community Grieves
The loss of DeAngelo Ross sent ripples of sorrow throughout the Southeast D.C. community. In the days following his death, friends and family erected a heartfelt street memorial at the site of the shooting.
