A Promising Life in the Arts

Born on April 14, 1985, Courtney Dan Keever Graham was a vibrant young man with a passion for the arts. He graduated in 2003 from the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, where he honed his talents in multimedia and photography. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Courtney was an athlete, playing both football and basketball during his time at Crawford High School. He furthered his education at San Diego Mesa College, immersing himself in his creative endeavors. His enthusiasm for his craft was evident, especially with his excitement about working at the Comic-Con Convention for the second consecutive year. Family and friends remember him as a kind-hearted individual, always willing to lend a hand and share his talents.

The Tragic Evening

On the night of July 19, 2010, tragedy struck. At approximately 9:30 p.m., Courtney was walking along a footpath behind the John Adams Manor Apartment complex in the Oak Park neighborhood of San Diego. This path, a familiar shortcut for him, connects Champion Street to Bay View Heights Place. It was here that he was brutally gunned down, sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.
