A Tragic Evening in Northwest D.C.

On the evening of July 24, 2001, the tranquility of the 300 block of Butternut Street NW in Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Residents emerged from their homes to find 24-year-old Javada Brock lying on the pavement, the victim of a fatal shooting.
