A Routine Evening Turns Tragic
On the evening of November 21, 2017, the east side of Indianapolis was bustling with typical activity. Among the many patrons visiting local establishments, 28-year-old Cory Miller had parked his Monte Carlo in front of the Family Dollar store near East 21st Street and Arlington Avenue. What began as an ordinary visit soon escalated into a tragic event that would leave a family grieving and a community seeking answers.
The Fatal Encounter
At approximately 8 p.m., while Cory sat in his parked vehicle, an unidentified man approached and, without apparent provocation, shot him twice. The assailant then fled the scene in a black SUV, heading northbound. Despite the store being open and occupied by other customers, no additional injuries were reported.
