A Tragic Halloween Night
On October 31, 2016, the Louisville community was shaken by the tragic death of 25-year-old Marcellus Antonio Spaulding Jr. He was found fatally shot in the 600 block of South 24th Street, shortly after leaving his grandmother's home. This incident marked the city's 95th homicide of that year, highlighting a growing concern over local violence.
Remembering Marcellus
Known affectionately as "Marcey" to his friends and family, Spaulding was remembered as a loyal individual who always looked out for those around him. His sister, Ranana Fields, recalled the disbelief upon hearing the news of his death, stating, "I just dropped the phone and I started crying because I just didn't want to believe it." His cousin, Angelique Williams, expressed a sentiment of forgiveness, saying, "I'm just going to pray for the people who did this to him because at the end of the day, you'll have to answer to the same God we have to answer to." ...Read More
