A Tragic New Year's Eve Discovery
In the early hours of December 31, 2014, the Lowry neighborhood of Denver awoke to a grim scene. At approximately 5:00 a.m., paramedics and officers from the Denver Police Department responded to a call at 550 Alton Way, the Renaissance at Lowry Boulevard apartments. There, they found 33-year-old Toshio Gilmore lifeless on a couch outside the complex. Initial reports suggested a man sleeping outdoors in the frigid weather, but upon closer examination, it was evident that Gilmore had been fatally shot.
The Immediate Aftermath
The discovery of Gilmore's body quickly escalated from an unattended death investigation to a homicide case. Despite the prompt response, the circumstances surrounding his death remained murky.
