On the night of January 20, 2014, the lives of 28-year-old Chaunthina Dione Mills and 37-year-old Dwight Dell-Kirvin Ray were abruptly ended in a violent act that has since remained unsolved. Responding to reports of gunfire, Dallas police arrived at the Estell Village apartment complex, located in the 9500 block of Highland Hills Drive, to find both victims fatally wounded by gunshots. Mills was discovered inside the apartment, while Ray's body was found just outside the door in the breezeway.
