A Tragic Night in Wilmington
On the evening of July 24, 2010, Wilmington, Delaware, was shaken by a violent crime that remains unsolved to this day. At approximately 11:29 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1000 block of West 6th Street following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered 29-year-old Jose Hernandez suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Hernandez succumbed to his injuries, leaving a void in his family and community.
The Immediate Aftermath
In the days following the murder, the Wilmington Police Department initiated an intensive investigation. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood, interviewed potential witnesses, and collected forensic evidence from the scene. However, leads were scarce, and the motive behind the shooting remained unclear.
