A Tragic Night in Ocean City
On the night of April 29, 2013, the Ocean City neighborhood was shaken by a violent crime that remains unsolved to this day. Paris Quentin Matthews, a 32-year-old resident of the Rene Lynn Apartments on Woodham Street, was fatally shot in his home around midnight. Two men knocked on his door, and upon Matthews opening it, they forced their way in and shot him once in the upper body. Despite efforts to save him, Matthews was pronounced dead at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
The Elusive Assailants
Witnesses described the suspects as two Black males wearing hoodies with their faces partially covered. After the shooting, they were seen fleeing on the north side of the apartment complex.
