A Tragic Evening in Louisville
On April 7, 2009, the tranquility of a Louisville neighborhood was shattered when 41-year-old Gary Peals was fatally shot at his home on Lentz Avenue. Responding to a knock at his door around 9:00 PM, Peals encountered a man wearing a ski mask and armed with a shotgun. Without warning, the assailant shot Peals once in the abdomen. Despite being rushed to University Hospital, Peals succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Witnesses to a Nightmare
Inside the home during this horrific event were Peals' two youngest daughters, aged just 3 and 4 at the time. These innocent children witnessed the violent act against their father, an experience that would leave an indelible mark on their young lives.
