The Disappearance
On the evening of September 23, 2009, 36-year-old Angela Dawn McCarty left her residence in Waycross, Georgia, around 6:00 p.m. Dressed in a white t-shirt, white capris, and white tennis shoes, she was last seen walking near Nunn Street. It wasn't uncommon for Angela to be away from home for several days; however, concern grew when she failed to return, and her family reported her missing on September 29, 2009. Despite initial efforts, no substantial leads emerged regarding her whereabouts.
The Grim Discovery
Nearly four years later, on July 30, 2013, a disturbing breakthrough occurred. Human remains were discovered in a wooded area off Highway 110 in Brantley County, Georgia. These remains were later identified as those of Angela McCarty.
