A Tragic Discovery
On April 9, 2014, a neighbor walking her dog at the Pavilion Place apartments in southwest Houston heard the distressing cries of an infant. Following the sound, she discovered a horrific scene: the lifeless bodies of 23-year-olds Melissa Ann Guerra and her husband, Jose Miguel Salinas, lying on the floor of their apartment. Between them was their unharmed five-month-old daughter, her wails piercing the silence of the tragedy. The neighbor immediately alerted authorities, marking the beginning of a complex and heart-wrenching investigation.
The Crime Scene
Investigators arrived to find no signs of forced entry or ransacking, suggesting the couple may have known their assailants.
