On May 1, 2017, the Louisville community was shaken by the tragic discovery of Eugene "Gene" Turner, a 60-year-old club owner, and his 72-year-old aunt, Sudella Davis, found shot to death in their home on Rosewell Avenue in the Chickasaw neighborhood.
