In the early hours of December 1, 1994, Gainesville, Florida, was shaken by a devastating event. At approximately 12:45 a.m., a fire was reported at the residence of 88-year-old Treva Gernannt and her 74-year-old daughter, Emily Wallace, located at 1031 SE 3rd Avenue. First responders arrived to find the home engulfed in flames, and upon extinguishing the fire, they discovered the lifeless bodies of Treva and Emily in their bedrooms. Uncovering the Horrific Truth
Subsequent investigations revealed that the fire had been deliberately set to cover up a double homicide. The medical examiner's report confirmed that Treva Gernannt had suffered multiple stab wounds, leading to her death.
