On 03/11/2002, the skeletal remains of a black female were discovered on the eastbound side of I70 just west of Illinois Route 143 at Silver Creek (approximately MP 23). The remains were discovered by IDOT workers who were working in the area. The remains were mostly intact.

  • Accessories: Man's-style gold-colored nuggett style ring with two glass stones. The ring orignally held four stones, but two were absent. The ring was determined to be costume jewelry, size 7 1/4. Two bracelets were also found.
  • Clothing: Gray "Second Skins" shorts with rhinestones, size medium Red and white check flannel style "Tommy Hifiger" button down man's style shirt, size XL


Area Recovered:
