The decedent was unidentified partial skeletal remains who had been located approximately 6 months to 1 year prior in the Mission Gorge area of San Diego. An individual was digging in a wooded canyon-like area and located the decedent's remains, and covered them up. On 07/17/2024 the individual reported the remains to another person, who called San Diego Police to report the incident. Officers responded to the location and located the remains, and reported the discovery to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
