On 07/29/2024 York Police Department responded to an area off Shore Road at Bayberry Lane for a report of a bone found on the side of the road near Phillips Cove Beach. The bone was found on the southbound side of the road across the road from the Atlantic Ocean. The previous winter there were several above average storm surges that caused debris from the beach to wash across the roadway to where the bone was found.
