On the morning of 05/04/04, an employee of the State Parks and Recreation along with a paleontologist were looking for fossils in the area of Vallecito Wash in Borrego Springs when they came across a human skull. They drove back out to the roadway where they flagged down a passing deputy and advised them of their findings.
