On July 17, 2007, contractors conducting dredging operations for Santee Cooper near the intake of the Cross Generating Plant found a severed, badly decomposed human foot floating in the diversion canal connecting Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie (or Santee Cooper Lakes) in the Cross/Pineville areas of Berkeley County, South Carolina. Gender, race, and age unknown. NFI available.
