On 02/23/2024, A biologist for the department of Fish and Wildlife was performing a survey of an open desert area in Hinkley when human remains were found. A Deputy from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department (SBCSD) arrived on scene and observed additional bones scattered throughout the area.
