On January 5, 2021, a concerned neighbor reached out to the Columbus Division of Police, requesting a well-being check for Loc Thi Pham, as she had not been in contact for the past week. The neighbor noted that it was uncharacteristic of Ms. Pham to be uncommunicative, given that she rarely left her residence. Responding to the request, Columbus Police Department patrol officers arrived at Ms. Pham's home to perform the welfare check.
