On November 2, 2021, the body of an unclaimed female identified as Margaret A. Hammond was discovered in Knoxville, Tennessee. Despite efforts to locate her next of kin (NOK), authorities were unable to find any relatives or contacts to take responsibility for her remains. Consequently, the county was required to step in and handle her cremation.
