On May 26, 2019, the body of Winifred Wada was discovered in Waipahu, Hawaii, marking the beginning of an investigation into an unclaimed person's case. Winifred Wada was under hospice care at the time and was residing in a private care home. Her body was found in her bed, unresponsive, by a hospice nurse, who then pronounced her dead at the scene.
