In late August of 2018, the remains of an unidentified female were discovered in Far Rockaway, New York, setting in motion a search for her identity. The date she was found, August 30th, marks the beginning of an ongoing case managed by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in New York City. This individual was later designated as Kathleen Merritt in the investigative records, yet remains unclaimed, leaving many questions unanswered about her life and circumstances preceding her death.
