On December 19, 2018, the body of Virl Andrew, identified as a Black male, was discovered in Knoxville, Tennessee. Despite efforts to locate his next of kin, no arrangements were made on their part, and thus, he remained an unclaimed individual. As a result, the county took responsibility for the cremation of his remains.
