In early 2019, the Knox County Sheriff's Office was faced with a poignant and challenging case with the discovery of an unclaimed male body identified as Steven Herbert Wallace. Found on January 27, 2019, in Powell, Tennessee, efforts to locate Mr. Wallace's next of kin initially proved unsuccessful, prompting the county to take on the responsibility of his cremation.
