In late September 2015, the community of Spanaway, Washington, was confronted with a poignant reminder of lives that sometimes go unnoticed. The body of a 77-year-old man, Roy Marvin Pillsbury, was discovered, marking the beginning of what would become a unique case for the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office.
