In a poignant and solitary case of an unclaimed individual, the remains of Dianna Leason Eason-Lathrop, a 58-year-old woman, were discovered on May 7, 2018, at her residence in Graham, Washington. Dianna's parents, despite being contacted, declined involvement in their daughter's posthumous affairs and consistently refrained from returning phone calls from the authorities. Further compounding this situation was the presence of a son, whose location remained undiscovered despite efforts by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office (PCMEO) to make contact. With each avenue exhausted, the PCMEO found themselves at a standstill, unable to connect with the family or establish any form of closure through kinship.
