On June 21, 2016, the body of William Stewart Hirz II was discovered in Washington. Despite his passing in a hospital from natural causes, efforts to locate any family members were unsuccessful. Over the months following his death, no relatives came forward to claim his remains, leaving them in the custody of the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office.
