On February 12, 2026, the body of Axel Juarez was discovered in the BNSF Railway yard in Hodgkins, Illinois. Juarez, who was found unresponsive, was lying on a freight train flat car. This train originated in Los Angeles and made several stops en route to its destination in Hodgkins. In identifying the deceased, authorities relied on a piece of California identification found on him.
