The decedent lived alone in an apartment at the death location. The decedent hadn't been seen or heard from for the past week. Another tenant/friend in the apartment building knocked on the decedent's door trying to retrieve property that they had inside, but received no response. The friend went to the property manager to notify her that the decedent was not answering the door. With a spare key, the friend and property manager made access inside the decedent's apartment and found the decedent lying on the ground unresponsive and not breathing. 9-1-1 was called and LAFD paramedics pronounced death at the scene shortly after at 1344 hours.
