On June 16, 2025, the body of an unidentified male, later determined to be Jose Cancel, was discovered in the Bronx, New York. Despite efforts to locate next of kin or establish familial connections, the case remains unresolved, and Mr. Cancel is currently classified as an unclaimed person.
