On August 2, 2021, the body of Ervin Ray Carroll was discovered in Dallas, Texas. He was pronounced deceased in the city, and despite efforts to identify and locate his next of kin, the case remains unresolved. Carroll’s death prompted an investigation by the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science, the designated medical examiner agency for Dallas County.
