On January 17, 2025, officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were driving eastbound on 7th Street, nearing the intersection of Main Street, when they observed an individual, later identified as Hugo A. Suarez, walking into the street and abruptly collapsing. The officers acted swiftly, rendering aid on the scene and performing CPR until paramedics arrived.
