On May 1, 2015, the body of Patrick J. Linbeck, a male resident of Puyallup, Washington, was found. The circumstances surrounding his passing revealed that he died of natural causes at his home. The case, assigned the Namus ID UCP2493, was handled by the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office, located at 3619 Pacific Avenue in Tacoma, Washington. Despite efforts to notify the decedent’s family, they chose not to claim his body.
As per protocol, Patrick J. Linbeck’s remains were transferred to a rotation funeral home following the standard procedures for unclaimed bodies. The decision not to claim him left the Medical Examiner's Office with the responsibility of managing his remains. Consequently, after the necessary arrangements, the cremains of the decedent were returned to the office.
In respect to his unclaimed status, and to ensure a dignified closure, Patrick J. Linbeck’s ashes were scattered at sea during a special scattering service on August 17, 2016.
