On February 18, 2023, an unclaimed male body was discovered in a park in Washington, District of Columbia. The individual, later identified as James Edward Manning, was found face down in a grassy area near a park bench on the 200 block of Independence Avenue, SE. The discovery was prompted by an anonymous 911 call reporting that a man had fainted in the park. This call led to the swift arrival of emergency services at the scene.
