On the morning of October 6, 2023, an unclaimed individual was discovered on a sidewalk in Long Beach, California. At approximately 0800 hours, a business owner encountered the unresponsive male and promptly alerted emergency services. Paramedics arrived on the scene quickly; however, despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at 0817 hours. The decedent was identified as David Belmontez Gomez, a known local homeless person, but currently remains unclaimed.
