On October 16, 2024, at approximately 8:15 PM, officers from the local law enforcement in Los Angeles, California, responded to a welfare check request initiated by the roommates of Susana Lainez. Upon their arrival, the officers found the door to Lainez's bedroom locked and were compelled to force entry. Inside, they discovered Susana unresponsive on the bedroom floor.
