On December 15, 2003, the remains of a female, identified as Ruth Fern Howell, were discovered in Amanda Park, Washington. Despite the passing of nearly two decades, her case remains unresolved, and she is considered an unclaimed person. Ruth Howell's remains were eventually transferred to the Grays Harbor County Coroner's Office on August 5, 2020, classified as abandoned.
