Ala Hassan Sarhan, a refugee from Iraq who arrived in the United States in 1992, was reported missing on July 19, 2000, by his girlfriend. She stated that the last time she saw or heard from him was on July 12, 2000, when he was driving his 1991 Chevrolet Lumina. Sarhan was described as being of Middle Eastern descent and having a left foot prosthesis or brace. Tragically, his case took a grim turn eight years later.
