On the 7th of July, 2015, the body of a male, later identified as Manuel Lewis Tate, was discovered in Newberry Springs, California. The location of the discovery was a small camp that appeared to be occupied by transients. The circumstances surrounding the presence of the body in such an isolated location are still unclear.
