In a tragic turn of events that concluded a month-long search, 23-year-old Jeremy Danowski was found deceased in what authorities have ruled a murder-suicide. The discovery was made in a field near Lapel, Indiana, where Danowski and his 21-year-old girlfriend, Heaven Henderson, were found together. The couple, both originally from Lapel but more recently living in Indianapolis, had been reported missing on December 18, 2017.
The search for the young couple began after they were last seen
on December 17, 2017, while visiting Danowski's mother in Indianapolis. Concerns grew as days turned into weeks with no contact from either of them. The investigation led authorities to Danowski's car, which was found abandoned at a park in Lapel. Despite several searches of the surrounding areas, the couple remained missing.
The heart-wrenching discovery was finally made by a snowmobiler in January 2018. The Madison County Coroner's Office later confirmed the identities of the deceased. The subsequent autopsy revealed that Henderson died from three gunshot wounds to her neck, while Danowski sustained a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
