Lottie W. Flowers, a 71-year-old resident of Rockford, Illinois, was found fatally injured on February 23, 2002. Authorities responded to her home on Newport Street after receiving a medical assist call. Upon arrival, they discovered Mrs. Flowers in the living room suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite being quickly transported to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
