Kenneth Babers, aged 40, was found dead on October 5, 2017, in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood. His body was discovered on the 100 block of Dakota Street, near the southern end of the Potrero Hill Recreation Center. The San Francisco Police Department reported that Babers died from gunshot wounds, and his body was discovered between 7 p.m. on October 4 and 8:24 a.m. on October 5. When medical units arrived, Babers was pronounced dead at the scene.
